The goal of this project is to provide a way for Iowa State University staff to monitor the amount of cars in a given staff lot. This will enable them to know ahead of time wether or not there is space for them to park.

We have decided to use object recognition and machine learning to enable us to monitor the amount of cars in a lot. With video feeds, network connectivity, and a developed back end to handle to object detetion we feel we can provide a solution that can bring many benifits.

We hope to reduce the amount of stress and time that it takes to find a parking spot for faculty. We can also reduce the amount of fuel spent and emissions given off by driving around and looking for a parking spot in multiple lots.

This solution will be avalible on Android, iOS, and on the web. This will enable all types of users to take advantage of this system.
